Ms. Gates specializes in urban infill areas and has been involved with many complex development projects that fall within the City of San Diego’s adopted Redevelopment areas. Ms. Gates is responsible for managing the development of projects from initial conception through completion of construction and stabilization. Ms. Gates is also involved in identifying affordable housing projects within the San Diego region with an emphasis on acquisition and rehabilitation and adaptive reuse. |

Jennifer is a registered architect (CA28372) and is a LEED Accredited Professional through the United States Green Building Council. She has been providing energy efficiency policy and planning as well as architectural management and consulting with her own firm, Ayala Architecture since 2008. Jennifer has been practicing architecture and planning in San Diego since 1997 and has extensive experience with multi-family, mixed use, community planning and specializes in achieving energy efficiency in existing structures. Ms. Ayala is responsible for the day-to-day management of The Sustainable Technologies Group which assists affordable housing property owners pursue the installation of sustainable technologies. After several years of representing Hampstead's interests on many complex affordable housing projects and closings, he took a 3 year hiatus to join the affordable housing practice group at Nixon Peabody LLP, one of the most prestigious and well known affordable housing practice groups in the United States. While at Nixon, he represented for profit and nonprofit affordable housing developers and owners on a wide variety of transactions and regulatory matters, focusing primarily on 4% and 9% low-income housing tax credit transactions and on HUD regulatory matters. Wylie rejoined Hampstead as it General Counsel in January of 2011. He brings with him his extensive experience in structuring, developing and closing affordable housing transactions, his knowledge of real estate, and his extensive knowledge of HUD regulatory matters. |
